The Blue Devil men defeated Genesee County Community College, 168-31, and Monroe County Community College, 145-71, and lost to Geneseo, 149-74. Three Fredonia State freshmen were individual winners. Mike Seay (Grand Island/Grand Island) won the 100-yard freestlye (:50.04), Noor El-Tahawy (Port Washington/Schreiber) the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.21), and Christian Torres (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) the 1-meter springboard diving competition (218.35 points). Torres was also second in 3-meter diving. In the women's meet between the same four schools, Fredonia State also came away with two wins and one loss. The Blue Devils routed Genesee C.C, 212-19, and Monroe C.C., 198-41, and lost to Geneseo, 137-102. Sophomore diver Kelly Sponholz (Alden/Alden) was a double-winner with 227.90 points off the 1-meter board,and 227.10 points in the 3-meter competition. Single winners for the Blue Devils were senior Cassie Austin (Cuba/Cuba-Rushford) in the 50-yard freestyle (:25.90) and freshman Monica Dunlevy (Batavia/Batavia) in the 500-yard freestlye (5:33:91). The Blue Devils return to competition Nov. 10 at Alfred.
