Sponholz is ECAC's top diver this week

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State sophomore Kelly Sponholz (Alden/Alden) has been selected as the ECAC Division III Women's Diver of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.

Sponholz was selected after setting two more school records last weekend at the Fredonia State Invitational. She won the 1-meter springboard diving with a score of 407.7 points, and won the 3-meter competition with 413.45 points.

Sponholz's lifetime won-loss record at Fredonia State in the two events is 34-0, not including the 2006 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, where she earned honorable mention All-American honors in both. Her scores over the weekend provisionally qualified her to return to the NCAA meet next March.
