Horsington earns All-American status in 1-meter diving

OXFORD, Ohio -- Fredonia State senior Scott Horsington (Churchville/Churchville-Chili) finished sixth Thursday to earn All-American recognition in 1-meter springboard diving at the NCAA Men's Division III Swimming and Diving championships.

Horsington, the Fredonia State record-holder in the event, scored 435.15 points for 12 dives at Miami (Ohio) University. It was his best finish ever at the national meet. He finished 12th in the event in 2007. He was also 13th in the 3-meter last year.

Horsington will compete in the 3-meter competition starting Friday, with finals Saturday.
