Horsington will participate in 1-meter and 3-meter springboard diving when athletes from around the country descend March 15-17 on the University of Houston Recreation Center. Twenty-two divers are entered in each event. The official NCAA psyche sheet was released Friday and can be viewed at www.NCAA.org. "Coach (John) Crawford and I are extremely proud of Scott and his selection to the NCAA meet," Fredonia State head coach Arthur Wang said. "We were pleasantly surprised to see his name on the selection list. I was trying to be optimistic about his chances, however, he did not win the conference this year. This could be an impressive end to Scott’s diving career with a chance of finishing as an All-American." This marks the second time Horsington has had his diving scores certified by an independent panel of judges. He qualified for nationals as a freshman in 2004, but opted out of the meet due to a previous academic commitment. He did not participate in the sport the past two seasons. Horsington is Fredonia State's second NCAA qualifier in diving. Last Friday, sophomore Kelly Sponholz (Alden/Alden) was officially notified of her inclusion in the women's championship meet, also in the 1-meter and 3-meter events. The women's meet will be held next weekend, March 8-10, at the University of Houston facility.
