Chapman breaks 1,650 mark

EDINBORO, Pa. – Freshman Alexandra Chapman (Lockport/Lockport) set a new school record in the 1,650-yard freestyle Saturday in Fredonia State's 112-91 loss to Edinboro University.

Chapman was timed in 19:17.37 --- about 1:07 faster than the previous team mark.

In addition to her record-setting win, Chapman also won the 500-yard freestyle (5:35.83) while sophomore Cassie Austin (Cuba/Cuba-Rushford) was a winner in the 50 free (:26.68) and 100 free (:58.22) events.

The Blue Devils return to action 6 p.m. Wed., Nov. 10, at Penn State Behrend.
