Salehi's second highlight of Day 1

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Freshman Cyrus Salehi (Fairport/Fairport) recorded a season-best :22.62 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle during the first night of the Blue Devil Invitational.

Salehi finished second in the race. He also teamed with freshman Eric Wilson (Syracuse/Manlius Pebble Hill), freshman Andrew Wilmore (Derby/Lake Shore), and junior Chris Oakes (Macedon/Palmyra Macedon) to finish third in the 400-yard medley relay. Their time of 3:58.32 was a season's best.

The Blue Devils are third in the team standings with 74 points. Oswego is first with 164, Nazareth second with 162, and Mercyhurst-North East with 53.

The Invitational resumes Saturday at 10 a.m. with preliminaries. The diving competition begins at noon, and meet finals at 6 p.m.

Competition is also secheduled for Sunday.
