![]() Sports Information Department – 112 Dods Hall CONTACT: Matt Palisin, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEIndoor Track and FieldMen, women qualify for SUNYAC's in opening meetKENT, Ohio. -- Nick Lord qualified for the State tournament and two other throwers qualified for SUNYAC's as the Fredonia State men's and women's track and field teams opened the indoor season at the Kent State Golden Flash Gala. Nick Lord was the top Devil thrower with a mark of 14.48 meters. Tim Miller (12.17 m) and Al Handzlick (11.79 m) also qualified for the SUNYAC meet. In addition to the throwing, the 5,000 meter was run Friday as well. Three men qualified for SUNAYC's, led by Andy Forma in a time of 15:39. Mike Pond (16:11) and Kevin Buzelli (16:18) also qualified. On the women's side, Ashley Tramp led a quartet of ladies that qualified for the conference tournament in the 5,000 meter. She finished in a time of 19:11. Others were Aimee Milks (20:10), Samantha Ellwood (20:24) and Alison Morgan (20:59). The throwing and 5,000 meter were the only events run on Friday.
