The Blue Devil women also claimed a relay win. Wysocki claimed individual wins in the 500 meters (1:09.05) and the 1,000 meters (2:38.76). His 500-meter time qualified him for the New York State Collegiate Track Conference championship meet. One other Blue Devil male claimed a win. Senior distance runner Andy Forma (Elma/St. Francis) won the mile run (4:29.84). He was also second to Wysocki in the 1,000 meters. Other meet highlights for the men included a SUNYAC qualifying shot put by freshman Steve Scherer (Hamburg/Frontier), and personal-bests by senior Adam Laycock (Oakfield/Oakfield-Alabama) in the 5,000 meters, Joe Vella (Hamburg/Hamburg) in the 800 meters, and senior Tim Miller (Cheektowaga/St. Mary's) in the shot put. Miller, sophomore Andrew Power (Bloomfield/Victor) in the 55-meter hurdles, and senior Nick Lord (Skaneateles/Skaneateles) in the 35-pound weight throw finsihed in third place in their respective events. On the women's side, junior Nicole Smith (Amherst/Amherst) won the 400-meter dash (1:01.30), just ahead of second-place finisher and teammate, senior Stephanie Milks (Binghamton/Chenango Forks). The Blue Devil women also finished one-two in the 800 meters --- senior Rachel McNamara (Lakeview/Nardin Academy) first in 2:22.46, and senior Aimee Milks (Binghamton/Chenango Forks) second. The Milks twins, McNamara, and Smith combined to win the 4-by-400 relay in 4:14.50. The two other Fredonia State wins came in field events. Sophomore thrower Julia Hopson (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) won the shot put in a personal-best 40' 10 1/4" (she was also third in the 20-pound weight throw), and senior Erin Ross (Amherst/Amherst) cleared 9' 2 1/4" to win the pole vault. In addition, freshman Allyssa Kline (Newark/Newark) improved her time in the 55 meters and posted a SUNYAC qualifying time in the 55-meter hurdles; sophomore Stephanie Bishop (Chittenango/Chittenango) qualfied for SUNYACs in the 20-pound weight throw; and sophomore Trisha Ippolito (Angola/Lake Shore) secured a spot 1,000-meter spot in the NYSCTC meet.
