The quartet of junior Julia Hopson (Poughkeepsie/Arlington), Nicole C. Smith (Amherst), freshman Kate Brett (Webster/Webster-Schroeder), and sophomore Laura Dickerman (Corning/Corning-Painted Post West) were timed in 1:48.63 on the famed track at The Armory. That was exactly one-tenth of a second faster than the previous school record, set in 2002. In other events Saturday, senior Samantha Ellwood (Hamburg) established a personal-best in the 5,000 meters with 19:12, approximately 20 seconds faster than her previous-best time. In the women's mile, junior Trisha Ippolito (Angola/Lake Shore) recorded a SUNYAC-qualifying time of 5:38. In addition, Brett and Smith competed in the 200 meters, and Hopson in the women's weight throw. In the men's 5,000 meters, sophomore Tom Williams (Queensbury) ran a personal-best 15:22:49. Williams also ran a personal-best Friday in the 3,000 meters at The Armory. -------
