ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's and women's track and field team competed in the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational outdoor track meet on Sunday afternoon. No team scoring took place.

For the men, Nick Lord finished third in the hammer throw with a personal-best 47.40m and fourth in the discus at 37.28m.

Brett Csont finished third in a field of 26 in the 100 meter dash in a time of 11.17. The time was a personal best and qualified him for the ECAC meet.

Andy Forma, second, and Kevin Buzzelli, third, had quality showings in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

Other Top 10 finishers were: Jerome Evans (10th, 400 meter, 52.48); Jason Smith (9th, 1,500 meter, 4:13.87); Drew Waldron (3rd, high jump, 1.87m; and 3rd, triple jump, 12.30m); and Matt Callegari (6th, javelin, 45.03m).

On the women's side, Samantha Ellwood (41:18.50) and Alison Morgan (41:36.91) finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 10,000 meter. Their times rank fifth and seventh on the all-time Fredonia State list.

Julia Hopson's hammer throw of 40.53 -- a personal best -- was good enough for seventh. Hopson also placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 11.31m.

Krista Morse (4th, 100m hurdles, 16.32) and Liz Schaller (7th, triple jump, 10.04; and 9th, long jump, 4.80) also were among the Devil's top performers.
