Charles Infurna (Rochester/Webster) won the men's competition with a toss of 160'7" -- sixth best ever at Fredonia State and his personal-best throw by nearly five feet. Jennifer Galvin (Pompey/Fabius-Pompey) won the women's hammer throw by going 151'1" -- second on the school's all-time list. It provisionally qualified her for the NCAA meet. She was also sixth in the shot put (33'6"). Among the other Fredonia State women, Kristen Veltz (Brockport/Brockport) set a school record in the 10,000 meters. She finished fourth overall in 38:59.88. The previous school record was held by Jen McNerney. Amanda Dron (Webster/Webster) was sixth in the 10,000 with a time of 39:58.34, sixth best in school history. Liz Schaller (Marilla/St. Mary's of Lancaster) was third in the long jump (16'9 1/2"). For the men, James Sweeney (Albany/Guilderland) was fifth and Chris Mills (Auburn/Auburn) 10th in the 1,000-meter run. The two-day meet resumed 9 a.m. Saturday. Athletics Home | Fredonia Home
