The Devils would earn a split on the day after defeating Penn State Behrend 3-1 (30-23, 30-20, 22-30, 30-27) in the afternoon's final match. Against Mount St. Joseph, freshman Kaitlin Erdmann (Randolph/Randolph) had a team best 15 kills. Senior JaHanna Dixon (Hamburg/Frontier) had 13 kills and 14 digs, while junior Alyssa Torpy (West Henrietta/Rush-Henrietta) had 47 assists. Versus Penn State Behrend, Dixon was the offensive catalyst with 13 kills. She also added 15 digs. Junior Leanne Maloney (West Seneca/Mount Mercy) had 10 kills and 23 digs. Torpy added 51 assists. The Devils went 3-1 in the two-day tournament, finishing in second place. Mount St. Joseph was 4-0 and took home the invitational title. Rochester was third at 2-2; Penn State Behrend fourth at 1-3; and Oneonta finshed the weekend 0-4. The All Tournament Team consisted of: Tournament MVP Katie Playko and Anna Richter for Mount St. Joseph; Dixon, Maloney and Torpy for Fredonia State; Rachel Bender and Jessica Rasmussen for Rochester. The Devils, after winning 10 of their last 13 matches, now stand at 17-11 on the season. They will play host to Penn State Behrend at Dods Hall on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
