Mercy) set a single-season service ace record Tuesday in a 3-0 victory over the University of Rochester. Maloney's two aces in the 30-19, 30-19, 30-24 win gives her 74 this season, eclipsing the previous single-season high of 73 by Allyson Strein in 2005. Maloney also added a team-high 14 digs and had seven kills as the Blue Devils improved to 19-11. Junior outside hitter Amy Bertrando (Westfield) led the team with 14 kills and had four blocks. Senior middle blocker JaHanna Diuxon (Hamburg/Frontier) had 12 kills, seven digs, and a team-high six blocks. Junior setter Alyssa Torpy (West Henrietta/Rish-Henrietta) collected 42 assists to go along with six digs and two blocks. The match proved to be a final tuneup before SUNYAC West Division Pool Play at Dods Hall Friday and Saturday. The Blue Devils take a 4-1 conference record into the competition, which also includes Buffalo State, Geneseo, Brockport, Oswego, and Morrisville State.
