Allegheny sends Blue Devils to defeat

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Allegheny College kept Fredonia State from tying the single-season school record for wins.

The Gators' final home match of the season produced a 30-15, 30-27, 30-27 victory over the Blue Devils (23-10).

JaHanna Dixon (Hamburg/Frontier) was Fredonia State's top hitter with 14 kills. She also had 5 digs.

In addition, Bethany Kibbe (San Antonio, Texas/John Marshall) had a team-high 12 digs, and Traci Pieczynski (Lancaster/St. Mary's) led the team with 33 assists. She also had 10 digs.

Liz Schaller (Lancaster/St. Mary's) added 8 kills and Allyson Strein (Mineola/Mineola) had 8 digs.

The Blue Devils return to action Saturday vs. Vassar College in the first round of New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association tournament at Ithaca College.
