Women's Volleyball

Devils split on opening day

CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Fredonia State split of pair of matches Fruday while opening their 2007 season at the SUNY Cortland Red Dragon Volleyball Classic.

The Blue Devils got off to a good start with a 30-23, 30-26, 30-21 victory over Swarthmore. That was followed by a hard-luck 30-25, 30-25, 22-30, 21-30, 6-15 loss to Stevens Institute of Technology.

The tournament resumes Saturday with the Blue Devils scheduled to play at noon against either the University of Rochester or Montclair State.
