The Blue Devils (2-2) dropped the day's first match 3-2 to the University of Rochester. They then defeated Baptist Bible 3-1. Against Rochester, JaHanna Dixon (Hamburg/Frontier) had 12 kills, 16 digs and five blocks. Amy Bertrando (Westfield/Westfield) had 12 kills. Leanne Maloney (West Seneca/Mt. Mercy) had 29 digs and 11 kills, while Kaitlin Erdmann (Randolph/Randolph) was credited with six kills and five blocks. In the victory over Baptist Bible, a 2006 NCAA tournament participant, Bertrando was tops with 15 kills. Dixon compiled 11 kills, seven digs and four blocks. Also contributing was Tonja Royce (Forestville/Forestville) with nine kills, 23 assists and four blocks. Alyssa Torpy (West Henrietta/Rush Henrietta) had 31 assists and 12 digs. Dixon was chosen to the all-tournament team. The Devils play host to Alfred University on Tuesday for their home opener. The match starts at 7 p.m. in Dods Hall.
