The Blue Devils (6-5) won the first game of its match vs. the host RIT Tigers, 30-25, before the Tigers rallied to win the next three games and the match (30-24, 32-20, 30-24). Later in the day, Fredonia State bounced back for a 30-23, 30-24, 30-26 sweep of SUNY Potsdam. Leanne Maloney (West Seneca/Mount Mercy) had 15 kills and 26 digs vs. RIT, and nine kills, 14 digs and four blocks vs. Potsdam. Alyssa Torpy (West Henrietta/Rush-Henrietta) was the Devils' leading setter in both matches -- 37 assists in the first match, 25 in the nightcap. She also had 12 digs vs. RIT. Amy Bertrando (Westfield) had a team-high 15 kills and 26 digs against RIT, while JaHanna Dixon (Hamburg/Frontier) had a team-leading 12 kills vs. Potsdam. Dixon also had 10 digs and three blocks. The Blue Devils are back in action Saturday morning against either Brockport or Ithaca. They also have an afternoon match against an opponent to be determined.
