Women's Volleyball

Devils spike Medaille

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's volleyball team made quick work of visiting Medaille on Tuesday, downing the Mavericks 3-0. It was the Devil's fourth straight win.

The Devils won by scores of 30-7, 30-24 and 30-12.

Junior Leanne Maloney (West Seneca/Mount Mercy) led the offense with eight kills and three service aces. Amy Bertrando (Westfield/Westfield) and Jen Reese (Barton/Tioga) had five kills each.

Val Grell (Lancaster/Lancaster) led the team with 11 digs, and added a pair of aces.

Medaille was paced by Michele Burgstahler with five kills. Amy Frazita added 12 digs.

Medaille drops to 4-11 on the season. The Devils up their record to 11-9.

This weekend Fredonia State travels to Oneonta for the Red Dragon Invitational.
