Devils drop two

ERIE, PA. -- After winning both matches on the opening day of the Penn State Behrend Tournament on Friday, Fredonia State dropped both matches Saturday. The Devils fell to Grove City 3-0 (31-29, 30-19, 30-21) and Behrend 3-1 (30-24, 26-30, 30-26, 31-29).

Against Behrend, senior JaHanna Dixon (Hamburg/Frontier) had 13 kills and 13 digs. Freshman Kaitlin Erdmann (Randolph) had 11 kills and six blocks. Junior Tonja Royce (Forestville) had 21 assists and 12 digs, while junior Alyssa Torpy (West Henrietta/Rush Henrietta) had 24 assists.

Dixon also topped the team with 10 kills against Behrend. Junior Leanne Maloney (West Seneca/Mt. Mercy) had 20 digs, while Torpy and Royce accumulated 24 and 15 assists, respectively.

The Devils now stand at 5-4 overall. The team travels to Rochester next weekend to play in the RIT Tournament.
