Pieczynski, Lesmes cited by SUNYAC

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Reigning Fredonia State Athletes of the Week Traci Pieczynski and Steve Lesmes were cited as the SUNYAC Volleyball and Men's Soccer Players of the Week, respectively.

Pieczynski (Lancaster/St. Mary's) led Fredonia to a 5-0 week, including a 4-0 mark and first place finish at the Penn State Behrend Tournament. The tournament Most Valuable Player, Pieczynski averaged 10.6 assists per game during the week. She registered 55 assists in 3-2 wins versus both Principia and Washington and Jefferson. Pieczynski recorded 42 assists and 11 digs in a 3-2 victory versus Bethany. Earlier in the week, she had 28 assists in just two games of a 3-0 win over Alfred. The Blue Devils are 7-2 this fall.

Lesmes (Fredonia/Fredonia) scored two goals, including the game-winner to defeat Keuka College 3-1. He scored the only goal of the game against Hiram at the 24:19 mark of the second half in the first round of the Fredonia State Days Inn Classic on Friday. Lesmes' three goals this season have come on a total of only four shots. The Blue Devils are now 3-1-1.
