Martin leads sweep of Alfred

ALFRED, N.Y. – Heather Martin led Fredonia State to a 3-0 opening-season victory over Alfred University.

Martin collected 16 kills, seven digs, and three blocks in the Blue Devils' 30-15, 30-21, 30-23 non-conference victory.

Traci Pieczynski was Fredonia State's top playmaker with 26 assists. She also had six digs and three aces.

In addition, Liz Schaller had seven kills and Allyson Strein led the Blue Devils with nine digs.

The Blue Devils will participate in the Red Dragon Classic at SUNY Cortland Friday and Saturday.
