The Gators won the first match 30-25, lost the second 27-30, then closed out the match 30-20 and 30-28 after the Blue Devils led 25-17 in the fourth game. For the Blue Devils, senior middle hitter Heather Martin (Allegany/Allegany-Limestone) had 19 kills and 25 digs. Freshman outside hitter JaHanna Dixon (Hamburg/Frontier) and junior middle hitter Elizabeth Schaller (Marilla/St. Mary's) had 13 and 12 kills, respectively. In addition, sophomore outside hitter Lindsey Drum (Wayland/Wayland-Cohocton) collected 22 digs and junior defensive specialist Kim Schmitz (Derby/Lake Shore) added 18. Junior setter Traci Pieczynski (Lancaster/St. Mary's) was credited with 35 assists and 14 digs. The Blue Devils are idle until Oct. 7 when they travel to Penn State Behrend.
