Devils split tri-match
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Senior Heather Martin (Allegany/Allegany-Limestone) had 17 kills and 16 digs to lead Fredonia State over Medaille, 3-0, in the Blue Devils' second of two matches Saturday.
Frostburg State topped the Blue Devils (15-8) in the first match, 3-0. In addition to the performance by Martin, freshman JaHanna Dixon (Hamburg/Frontier) had 12 kills --- with zero errors -- while junior Traci Pieczynski was credited with 40 assists. Also, junior Kim Schmitz (Derby/Lake Shore) recorded 18 digs while freshman Allyson Strein (Mineola/Mineola) had 14. In the 30-18, 30-22, 30-23 loss to Frostburg, Martin had a team-high 10 kills and a team-high 15 digs. Pieczynski collected 16 assists. The Blue Devils are back in action Friday and Saturday when they participate in the Oswego St. Tournament.Athletics Home | Fredonia Home
