The Devils held a 27-26 lead at the break, paced by Maria Scaffidi (Buffalo/Holy Angels) with 11 first-half points. Plattsburgh began the second half with a 12-2 run to take a 38-29 lead. The lead would stand until the Devils tied the game 49-all with 2:55 remaining after a pair of free throws by Scaffidi. The Cardinals would then use a Casy Clark layup to regain the lead. Plattsburgh would go on to score its final eight points from the free throw line, converting on eight of ten opportunities down the stretch. For the game, they converted 73.9% (17 of 23). The Devils also were solid from the line, connecting on 77.8% (14 of 18) of its free throws. However, the offense was slowed by 18 of 64 (28.1%) shooting from the field. Scaffidi led all scorers with 19 points. Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville South) finished with 14 for the Devils. For Plattsburgh, Casey Clark had 15 points and 13 rebounds. Vanessa Arthurton finished with 10 points. The Devils (5-6, 0-3 SUNYAC) play host to Potsdam Sat. at 2 p.m. in Steele Hall. Plattsburgh (4-6, 2-1) travels to Buffalo State. -------
