In a game that was close throughout, Cortland held a 33-30 advantage at halftime. The Devils kept things close after shooting 11 for 22 from the field in the first frame. Cortland was 11 for 36 (30.6 percent). In the second half, the Devils were not as accurate, converting only 8 of 29 field goals (27.6 percent). Cortland went 12 of 26 (46.2 percent) to pull away late. Overall, Cortland held a 48-31 advantage in rebounds. Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) topped Fredonia State with 13 points. Lisa Gentile (Utica/Whitesboro) and Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford Mendon) had 11 apiece. Bleecker added a team-high seven rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots. The Devils dropped to 4-8 overall and 0-5 in the SUNYAC. Cortland improved to 10-1 and 4-0 in SUNYAC play. The Devils travel to Geneseo on Tuesday before returning home next weekend to play to Plattsburgh and Potsdam next Friday and Saturday.
