New Paltz keeps Devils winless in SUNYAC

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- Fredonia State dropped to 0-5 in the SUNYAC, 5-8 overall, with an 83-71 loss Friday at New Paltz.

Down 52-37 at halftime, the Blue Devils went on a 14-4 run to cut their deficit to five points. They were unable to get closer and trailed by double digits the final eight minutes of the game.

Senior guard Maria Scaffidi (Buffalo/Holy Angels) had 22 points, junior forward Angela Pucciarelli (Fredonia) added 17, and senior forward Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

The Hawks (9-3, 4-1) had four women in double figures while winning their seventh straight game.
