Up 27-16 at halftime, the Blue Devils (6-9, 2-6 SUNYAC) withstood a charge in the second half and pushed out to an 18-point lead. A three-point play by junior forward Michelle Bull (Machias/Pioneer) with 15:10 in the second half helped stem the tide after Potsdam cut its deficit to three points. While Kindzia was the lone Blue Devil to score in double figures, there were three players with eight points each: junior Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon), senior Lisa Gentile (Utica/Whitesboro), and freshman Alexandria Haitz (Batavia/Notre Dame). In addition, senior Karolyn Baker (Olean/Olean) grabbed nine rebounds and dished out six assists. For the Bears (7-9, 2-5 SUNYAC), freshman Cortney Poirier (Moira/Brushton-Moira) and freshman Rachel Graf (Elbridge/Jordan Elbridge) had 14 points each. Junior Kathleen Lewis (Potsdam/Potsdam) added 11 points. Fredonia State returns to action Jan. 26 at SUNYIT.
