Sophomore guard Maria Scaffidi (Buffalo/Holy Angels) hit a pair of three-point baskets to start the 17-0 run. She closed out the run with two free throws and finished with 11 points. The Blue Devils (10-4, 5-2 SUNYAC) had two players record double-doubles. Sophomore guard Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) led the offense with 23 points and 11 rebounds, while sophomore forward Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) had 17 points and 17 rebounds. Junior guard Karolyn Baker (Olean/Olean) was the Blue Devils' floor leader with seven assists. Plattsburgh was led by Yuri Inomata with 15 points. Fredonia State led 29-24 at halftime and never trailed thereafter, although the Cardinals (3-12, 1-6) forged two ties early in the second half. After shooting 35.5 percent in the first half (11 of 31), the Blue Devils heated up in the second half, when they made 12 of 25 shots (48.0 percent), including 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils return to Steele Hall for a Tuesday SUNYAC game vs. Brockport starting at 6 p.m.
