Baker dished out a career-high 12 assists -- eight of which came in the first half. As a team, Fredonia State shot 57.1 percent (16 of 28) in the period, compared to 26.1 percent (6 of 23) by Plattsburgh. The Devils would build a 35-19 lead that they would not relinquish. Melissa Howlett (Avon/Honeoye Falls-Lima) and Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) would pace the Devils with eight points apiece in the frame. Kindzia would finish with a game-high 20 points. Howlett hit for 15 markers and grabbed five boards for the Devils. Emily Smith (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) -- making her first career start -- led the team with seven rebounds. The Cardinals would make a game of it late in the second half, pulling to within four points, 62-58, with 34 seconds remaining. However, the Devils converted six of six free throws down the stretch to preserve the win. Plattsburgh (4-13, 2-8 SUNYAC) was led by Jacee Sutton with 14 points. Casey Clark was credtied with 13 rebounds. Fredonia State (7-10, 3-8 SUNYAC) returns to action Jan. 30 to battle Buffalo State at Steele Hall.
