The Blue Devils (11-7, 6-5) dropped their third straight road game with a 62-53 SUNYAC loss Tuesday to the Geneseo Blue Knights. With the scored tied 50-50 with 4:07 left, the Blue Knights (11-7, 6-3) went on a 10-0 run, led by Katy Irving, who had five of her game-high 15 points during the decisive stretch. Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) had 13 points to lead Fredonia State. Maria Scaffidi (Buffalo/Holy Angels) and Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) had 10 points each. All three women are sophomores. The loss was especially damaging to the Blue Devils in that they dropped into fifth place, one game behind Geneseo, in their bid to earn a top four seed and a home game in the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament. The Blue Devils, 7-1 at home this season, will attempt to turn things around when they play host to Oneonta at 6 p.m. Friday at Steele Hall.
