Women's Basketball

New Paltz rolls to 60-43 win

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- New Paltz dealt Fredonia State a 60-43 loss in SUNYAC women's basketball Friday.

Amber Sohns led the Hawks (3-1, 1-0 SUNYAC) with 15 points, Kristen Sitek had 12, and Chelsea Clarke added 10. Three threesome were a combined 14 of 21 from the field.

Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) led the Blue Devils (3-3, 0-2 SUNYAC) with 11 points and three steals. Lisa Gentile (Utica/Whitesboro) grabbed nine rebounds.

Shooting only 22.2 percent from the field in the first half (4 of 18), the Blue Devils were down 29-14 at the break and were unable to recover. New Paltz had a 30-10 advantage in scoring by non-starters.
