Devils fall to 0-3 in conference play

ONEONTA , N.Y. -- Fredonia State fell to 0-3 in the SUNYAC with a 51-44 road loss Saturday to the Oneonta Red Dragons.

The Blue Devils (3-4 overall) came out at halftime and went on a 14-5 un to take a 34-33 lead. That was followed by a six-minute scoring drought which sealed their fate.

Junior forward Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) led the Blue Devil offense with 18 points, on 8 of 14 shooting, and nine rebounds. Junior guard Maria Scaffidi (Buffalo/Holy Angels) added 13 points and senior forward Lisa Gentile (Utica/Whitesboro) pulled down 14 rebounds.

The Red Dragons (5-2, 2-1 SUNYAC) had three players score in double figures, led by Shannon Weir's 16 points.

Fredonia State closes out the first semester of its schedule with two non-conference road games, Dec. 7 at Nazareth and Dec. 9 at Rochester Institute of Technology.
