RIT (4-1), trailing by as many as 13 points in the first half, fought back with an 11-4 run to end the period down six, 28-22. Fredonia State (4-5) shot 48 percent in the first half going 12-of-25 from the floor. Lisa Gentile (Utica/Whitesboro) led the Blue Devils with nine points in the frame. Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) added eight points and seven rebounds at the halfway point. The Blue Devils led by as many as 10 points on two occasions in the second half. Kindzia gave Fredonia State a 10-point lead with a layup with 17:52 to play. After RIT cut the lead to eight, Maria Scaffidi (Buffalo/Holy Angels) made it a 10-point lead, 38-28, on a jump shot with 16:42 to play. RIT's Ramata Diallo’s layup with 10:07 to play in the second half put the Tigers up 45-44, their first lead since early in the game. RIT's Joanna Dobeck was a major key to the comeback, scoring 12 of her 15 points in the second half. Diallo finished with 12 points and nine rebounds, and Margot Sandy finished with eight points. Kindzia led the Devils with 14 points, six block and eight rebounds. Maria Scaffidi added 12 points, while Gentile had nine points and nine rebounds. This was the final contest for the Devils for the semester. They are off until Jan. 6 when they face St. Lawrence at Steele Hall.
