Fredonia State sophomore forward Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) led all scorers with 18 points. Lisa Gentile (Utica/Whitesboro) added a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) finished with 12. Guards Maria Scaffidi (Buffalo/Holy Angels) and Karolyn Baker (Olean/Olean) had productive games distributing the ball with seven and six assists, respectively. Lynette Cray led Plattsburgh (5-17, 3-10 ) with 13 points off the bench. Yuri Inomata had 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds for the Cardinals Plattsburgh took the early lead before Melissa Howlett (Avon/Honeoye Falls-Lima) hit a jumper at 11:45 of the first half to tie the score at 11-all. After Plattsburgh failed to score on its next possession, Gentile followed with a three-pointer that would give the Devils the lead for good. A jumper by Baker at 0:26 of the first would give Fredonia a 36-22 advantage at the break. The Devils would lead by as many as 18 in the second half before coming away with the 14-point win. The Blue Devils (13-7, 8-5 SUNYAC) travel to Potsdam on Saturday.
