Behrend outlasts Blue Devils

HARBORCREEK, Pa. -- Clutch shooting late in the second half carried Penn State Behrend over Fredonia State, 70-64, in women's non-conference action.

The loss ended a three-game winning streak by the Blue Devils (14-8), who had three players score in double figures.

Sophomore guard Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) led the offense with 19 points. Sophomore forward Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville South) added 14 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. She also blocked three shots. Also, sophomore guard Maria Scaffidi (Buffalo/Holy Angels) was 6 of 8 from the field to finish with 13 points, plus a team-high four assists.

Behrend (14-9) was led by Rachel Slomski with 17 points, two more than Jessica Serafin.

The Blue Devils close out their regular season with SUNYAC home games this weekend: Friday vs. SUNYIT, and Saturday vs. Cortland. Game time both days is 6 p.m.
