The Blue Devils (10-12, 6-9 SUNYAC) also swept the season series with Geneseo for the first time since the 1989-90 season. Junior forward Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) had 18 points and eight rebounds to lead her team in both departments. She also sank two free throws to push the lead out to four points, 68-64, with :15 left. A three-pointer by Geneseo's Merrissa Wilson (Buffalo/Mt. Mercy) cut the lead to the final margin. The Blue Devils ran out the final eight seconds without incurring a clock-stopping foul. In addition to Kindzia, senior forward Lisa Gentile (Utica/Whitesboro) added 16 points and a team-high five assists to the Blue Devil attack. Junior forward Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) had 10 points before fouling out with 4:55 remaining. The Blue Devils were 17 of 18 from the foul line, including 6 of 6 by junior guard Maria Scaffidi (Buffalo/Holy Angels). The Blue Knights (13-11, 8-7 SUNYAC) had four players score in double figures, led by junior forward Amanda Haney (Unadilla/Sidney) with 19 points and senior guard Katy Irving (Olean/Olean) with 17. The Blue Devils close out the regular season Friday at Cortland before moving onto a SUNYAC Tournament First Round road game next Tuesday at Brockport.
