Devils fall in first round

BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Fredonia State's season came to a close with a 64-48 loss to Brockport in the first round of the SUNYAC playoffs.

Junior forward Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) was the only Devil to reach double figures, with 16 points. Junior forward Michelle Bull (Machias/Pioneer) collected eight rebounds to go along with eight points.

The Blue Devils were 21-70 (30 percent) from the field, while Brockport was 24-55 (43.6 percent).

Brockport's Brenlyn Campbell led all scorers with 19 points and was 8 of 9 from the field. Kim Schon grabbed 16 rebounds for Brockport.

The Blue Devils finished the season 10-14 overall.

With the win Brockport will advance to the second round of the SUNYAC Tournament. They will play host to Oswego State on Friday in a semifinal game.
