Kindzia becomes top rebounder in loss to Oswego

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Senior forward Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) became Fredonia State's all-time top rebounder in the Devils' 63-54 SUNYAC loss to Oswego.

Kindzia had 19 points and 10 rebounnds while senior guard Maria Scaffidi (Buffalo/Holy Angels) added 16 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

In registering her 13th double-double of the season, Kindzia overtook Shelly Giardini as the program's top all-time rebounder. Kindzia has 839 rebounds to Giardini's 836. The Blue Devils (7-16, 2-13 SUNYAC) have one game remaining -- 2 p.m. Saturday vs. Morrisville State at Steele Hall.

For Oswego, Traci Bacon (Massena) was the leading scorer with 14 points, Samantha Driscoll (Lisle/Whitney Point) added 13, and Sarah Lombard (Saratoga Springs) had 10. The Lakers (13-10, 8-7 SUNYAC) visit Buffalo State Saturday afternoon before advancing to the SUNYAC Tournament.
