![]() Sports Information Department – 112 Dods Hall CONTACT: Jerry Reilly, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEWomen's BasketballKindzia, Bleecker chosen All SUNYACFREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State sophomore teammates Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) and Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) have been chosen to the 2005-06 SUNYAC Women’s Basketball All-Conference team. Kindzia, a 6' 0" forward, was selected to the First Team on the strength of her inside scoring presence and rebounding. She is second on the conference in scoring average (15.6) and first in rebounding average (10.7). As a result, she is the only player in SUNYAC to average a double-double for the the entire season. In addition, Kindzia is third in field-goal percentage (51.8%), third in blocked shots per game (1.36), and 15th in free-throw percentage (62.5%). She is the first Fredonia State First Team selection in women's basketball since Renee Harpster in 2001. Bleecker, a 6' 0" guard, was chosen SUNYAC Second Team for her all-around play. She is third in SUNYAC scoring average (14.7), second in free-throw percentage (81.8%), fourth in steals (2.43 per game), 10th in field-goal percentage (41.2%), and 12th in blocked shots (0.68 per game). A two-sport standout, Bleecker was an honorable mention selection in basketball as a freshman. In soccer, she was an honorable mention choice as a defender following her freshman year. As a sophomore, she was First Team All SUNYAC and Third Team All Northeast Region as well as a New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association women's soccer all-star. The SUNYAC all-conference basketball teams were announced at an awards banquet Thursday night in Utica, the site of the conference men's and women's semifinals Friday and Saturday.
