Women's Basketball

Season ends in Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team dropped a 67-44 decision at Oneonta to bring to a close one of the most successful season in school history.

Sophomores Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) and Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) had 14 points to pace the Blue Devils. Kindzia also had a game-high nine rebounds.

The Red Dragons' Beth Branham scored a game-high 20, including a perfect 6 for 6 from three-point land. Shannon Weir and Melissa Donohoe added 15 apiece. As a team, Oneonta recorded 10 three-pointers to the Blue Devils' one.

Oneonta built a 30-18 lead at the break.

The Red Dragons advance to play the winner of the Elmira-Union game.

Fredonia State finishes the season with a 17-10 mark.
