Devils cool in second half, fall to red-hot Brockport

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Brockport won its ninth straight game and avenged its only SUNYAC loss with a 55-46 victory over Fredonia State.

Ashley Broadhurst had 23 points for the Golden Eagles (11-7, 9-1), who were beaten 66-61 when the teams met at Steele Hall earlier in the season.

Senior Amanda Neamon (Arcade/Pioneer) had 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Blue Devils (11-8, 6-6). Neamon was 10 of 17 from the field and led her team with four steals.

Fredonia State led 24-22 at halftime after shooting 47.6 percent (10 of 21) and holding the Golden Eagles to 6 of 30 (20.0%). The Blue Devils cooled off in the second half (8 of 26, 30.8%).

The Blue Devils return to action Feb. 8 at home against Allegheny. Game time is 7 p.m.
