Neamon leads Devils over Cortland

FREDONIA N.Y. – Senior Amanda Neamon (Arcade/Pioneer) had a school-record 32 points and 21 rebounds to lead Fredonia State to a 66-51 SUNYAC win over Cortland.

Neamon's 32 points tied Sarah Adkins in the Fredonia State record book for most points in a game. Adkins had her high game vs. Medaille on Jan. 24, 1998.

Playing in her final regular season home game, Neamon was also 20 of 22 from the foul line for the Blue Devils (15-10, 9-7) while freshman Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Cortland (18-6, 12-4) had three players in double figures: Sara Cavanaugh with 15, Andrea Wilkinson with 14, and Deirdre Zimmerman with 12.

The double-double for Neamon was his seventh straight and 11th this season.

It was also the final home game for seniors Heather Martin (Allegany/Allegany-Limestone), Katie Estes (Olean/Olean), and Tina Homan (Gowanda/Gowanda).

Estes chipped in with eight points, including her first career 3-point basket, and five rebounds.

The Blue Devils will return to action Tuesday in the first round of the SUNYAC playoffs on the road against a yet-to-be-determined opponent.
