Neamon repeats as SUNYAC Player of the Week

FREDONIA N.Y. – Senior forward Amanda Neamon (Arcade/Pioneer) is State University of New York Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.

With double-doubles in all three games last week, Neamon averaged 19.7 points and 15.7 rebounds, including a record-tying 32 points and 21 rebounds in a 66-51 victory over Cortland.

The 32 points Cortland tied the Fredonia State single-game record set by Sarah Adkins vs. Medaille on Jan. 24, 1998.

In addition, Neamon's 21 rebounds equaled Adkins's total in the same Medaille game. It's the eighth best total in school history (Kim Guenther also had 21 rebounds vs. D'Youville on Jan. 14, 2002).

Neamon was 20 of 22 from the foul line vs. Cortland, just short of the NCAA Division III single-game accuracy mark (22 of 22).

She has seven straight double-doubles, 11 this season, and is averaging 12.3 points and 10.2 rebounds in 24 games.

Neamon was also SUNYAC Player of the Week on Dec. 13. She is the only woman to win the award twice this season.

As SUNYAC Player of the Week, she is eligible for the weekly Eastern College Athletic Conference award, which will be announced Tuesday.

The Blue Devils are back in action Tuesday at Oneonta in a SUNYAC Tournament first-round game.
