Neamon garners share of ECAC award

FREDONIA N.Y. – One day after being named SUNYAC Player of the Week, senior forward Amanda Neamon (Arcade/Pioneer) added another award to her resume.

On Tuesday, Neamon was named Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Upstate Co-Player of the Week.

She shared the award with Ithaca College senior guard Stephanie Cleary.

With double-doubles in all three games last week, Neamon averaged 19.7 points and 15.7 rebounds, including a record-tying 32 points and 21 rebounds in a 66-51 victory over Cortland.

Neamon was also SUNYAC Player of the Week on Dec. 13. She is the only woman to win the award twice this season.

She is also the third Fredonia State woman to receive an ECAC award this winter. Track and field citations were received previously by senior thrower Jennifer Galvin (Pompey/Fabius-Pompey) and junior jumper-sprinter Elizabeth Schaller (Marilla/St. Mary's).

(More information on Neamon's award is available at the ECAC women's basketball website.)
