Devils ousted from SUNYAC playoffs

ONEONTA N.Y. – Oneonta defeated Fredonia State, 56-38, in the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament.

Noreen Naughton had 15 points and Allie Sullivan added 11 for the Red Dragons (18-8). They also were a force on defense as Naughton blocked five shots, and Sullivan four.

Freshman Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) netted 10 points for the Blue Devils (14-11), who entered the SUNYAC Tournament as the No. 5 seed.

Senior Amanda Neamon (Arcade/Pioneer) had her streak of seven straight double-doubles come to an end. She finished with 13 rebounds, but only six points.

The Blue Devils had trouble with their shooting touch. They made just 23.1 percent of their fieldgoal attempts (12 of 52), including 4 of 17 from three-point range.

Senior Heather Martin (Allegany/Allegany-Limestone) had one of the treys, the 79th of her collegiate career -- third-most in Blue Devil history.
