Plattsburgh turns aside Devils

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Plattsburgh handed Fredonia State a 59-55 SUNYAC loss Saturday at Steele Hall.

Freshman Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) led the Blue Devils (10-7, 5-5) with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Freshman Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford Mendon) added 10 points.

Plattsburgh (8-10, 4-6) was led by senior Athena DiLorenzo (Schenectady) with 11 points and freshman Ashley Sutton (St. Albans, Vt.) with 10 points. Both players had only two points at halftime.

Fredonia State led 29-27 at halftime and led by as many as seven points in the second half. Plattsburgh took the lead for good with a 14-2 run which included six points by DiLorenzo.

Next game for Fredonia State is Tuesday at Buffalo State.
