Devils drop RIT in consolation game

ERIE, Pa.Katie Estes (Olean/Olean) had 18 points and Amanda Neamon (Arcade/Pioneer) had a double-double to lead Fredonia State over Rochester Institute of Technology, 76-54, in the consolation game of the Winter Classic at Penn State Behrend.

Estes, a senior, hit on 8 of 12 shots while Neamon, also a senior, had 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds for the Blue Devils (6-3). Freshman Maria Scaffidi (Buffalo/Holy Angels) had a career-high 11 points off the bench. She also had a team-high four assists.

Overall, Blue Devil reserves scored 31 points.

The Tigers (2-2) had three players in double figure, led by Ramata Diallo with 12.

Fredonia State improved to 15-3 in the all-time series with RIT. The win also continued to keep the Blue Devils ahead of last year's pace, when they reached six wins in their 14th game compared to nine games this season.

Next game for the Blue Devils is Jan. 11 at Medaille.
