Devils cruise over SUNYIT

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Fredonia State shot nearly 70 percent in the first half and cruised to a 76-47 SUNYAC home win over SUNYIT.

Senior Amanda Neamon (Arcade/Pioneer) led a parade of players in double figures with 17 points. Freshmen Cheryl Kindzia (Williamsville/Williamsville North) and Danielle Bleecker (Pittsford/Pittsford Mendon) had 16 and 15 points, respectively, for the Blue Devils (10-6, 5-4). Kindzia added a team-high seven rebounds.

SUNYIT (4-12, 2-6) was led Laura Giancone (Baldwinsville) with 17 points.

While building a 40-23 halftime lead, the Blue Devils made 16 of 23 from the field (69.6 percent) and 8 of 8 from the line.

They improved to 6-1 at home this season with a chance to improve on that mark when they face Plattsburgh at 2 p.m. Saturday.
