Up early, Devils roll over D'Youville

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Sophomore Jill Ratchuk (Buffalo/Mt. Mercy) had 18 points and sophomore Kaorlyn Baker (Olean/Olean) added 11 to lead the Blue Devils (2-1) to a 71-38 victory over D'Youville.

Ratchuk connected on her first seven shots and was 8 of 10 in the game. Baker was 5 of 9 from the field and shared the team lead in assists with four.

Sophomore Kate Modafferi (Cato) led the Spartans (1-2) with 18 points.

The Blue Devils raced to an 18-0 lead in the opening five minutes. The scoring was well-balanced during the run, with Ratchuk and Baker scoring five points each, and seniors Kate Estes (Olean/Olean) and Amanda Neamon (Arcade/Pioneer) four each.

Fredonia State led at halftime, 43-19, and by game's end had 10 players in the scoring column.

The Blue Devils outrebounded the Spartans, 62-42, with Estes grabbing 13 boards.

Next game for Fredonia State is Nov. 30 at home against Brockport.
