Neither team mounted any sustained scoring threats and neither keeper was forced to make a spectacular save over 110 minutes of play. The Cardinals (10-2-1, 5-2-1 SUNYAC) were coming off a stunning 4-0 win over nationally ranked Oneonta. Fredonia State won the shootout tiebreaker for playoff-seeding purposes, 5-4.
